Research Programmes:
After documenting your collection you will likely find that some information is missing. We can help you develop research programmes to trace these data so that your catalogue becomes more complete over time. We can also assist you in undertaking object research, authentication and certification.
Conservation and Restoration:
Today, conservation and restoration are highly specialised fields. It is of vital importance to select the right expert. We can act as an independent party to connect you to highly qualified professionals.
Exhibitions:
We offer advice on whether or not to show your objects and under what conditions and we can advise on logistics. We also inform you of relevant upcoming exhibitions and events.
Insurance:
We can help you select the most appropriate insurance coverage for your collection. Furthermore, by pooling policies, we are able to negotiate favourable rates.
Valuations:
We can recommend highly qualified valuers and experts and help you evaluate the fees they quote.
the documentation process from a to ZX
We can also make your collection accessible at www.artdocument.com. You will then have a unique digital object archive – your private virtual art reference library. All collections are subject to change, for instance through sales, new acquisitions, loans to exhibitions or availability of newly published research records. We can add this new information to your database, thus keeping your collection constantly up-to-date and enhancing the joy and pleasure you will experience from each individual work of art.
Each documentation project starts with creating an indexed inventory. We match all available material, such as invoices, photos, certificates, newspaper clippings, insurance documents, personal notes, valuation and condition reports, certificates and biographical references to each individual object file. By doing this our staff consolidates your hard copy collection archive, which contains all your original documents. At the end of the project this archive will be returned to you.
